Our Student Ministry has adopted the name Sojourn to reflect our belief that this world is not our true home and that Christians are only temporarily here. Instead, Scripture teaches us that our true home is with God (1 Peter 2:11ff). Since this world is not our home, the Apostle Peter tells us that we must possess integrity, display submission to our authorities, be prepared to suffer for our faith, and demonstrate love to others (especially our fellow sojourners).
All in all, seeing oneself as a sojourner means finding one’s identity in something (or someone) other than what this world has to offer—namely, Jesus Christ. Even though this world is not our home, we’re sovereignly placed here by God for a time to be a community centered around Jesus Christ, empowered by the Spirit to reach the world with the message of the Gospel. Life is a journey. None of us knows exactly where this journey will take us, but the Sojourn Student Ministries team is excited to walk alongside you and your kids for as long as our journeys overlap!
Sojourn: Grades 6 - 12
Wednesdays: 6:30-8:00p in the Student Chapel (during the school year)
